Visit the official website of Delta Airlines.
Go to find your trip or if you have a SkyMiles account log in using your
credentials.
Enter your confirmation number/ticket number and your first and last name.
Click on Search.
Choose the Need to Cancel button and start the cancellation process.
Delta Airlines Flight Cancellation Policy
For Refundable Ticket :
To get a refund for a trip you have coming up, go to My Trips. Your ticket needs to
be refundable and paid for with cash, credit card, or check. Your original payment
method will be used to process your refund.
You must cancel within 15 days of purchasing the plan (or within the time frame
specified by your state of residence) and not have made a claim or left on your
vacation in order to receive a full refund of your premium. Thereafter, premiums
are not refundable.
Non-Refundable Ticket :
In certain circumstances, a cancellation fee will be subtracted from the price of
your ticket if you bought a non-refundable one. Any money left over will be given
as an electronic credit that can be used to the cost of another ticket.
No Cancellation Fee
The following tickets are exempt from cancellation fees:
For travel within the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, use Delta
Main Cabin and above tickets.
Tickets for travel to any destination in the world (including flights run by joint
venture and codeshare partners) starting in the United States, Canada, Europe,
Africa, or the Caribbean and priced at Delta Main Cabin or higher. Tickets in Basic
Economy are not included.
Cancellation Charges and Fees
Your ticket will be refunded as an eCredit for the remaining value of your ticket
after the cancellation charge or fee is deducted. If your ticket is not covered by the
above policy (such as Basic Economy tickets or tickets originating in Central or
South America), then cancellation fees or charges will apply and start at $99
depending on your itinerary (subject to change; the applicable fee is listed in the
Fare Rules for your ticket). Your original ticket's terms as well as any relevant
waivers will determine when your eCredit expires.
No Show Policy
We are aware that plans sometimes alter. If so, please use the Fly Delta app or My
Trips to cancel or modify your plans before the departure of your flight in order to
keep the value of your ticket. Customers forfeit the value of their ticket and all
subsequent flights on the itinerary will be canceled if they fail to show up for a
scheduled flight without modifying or canceling their reservation before
departure. Reminder: There are no exchanges available for Basic Economy tickets.
Refund Policy
In the event of a flight cancellation or a major delay (more than 120 minutes), your
ticket will be changed to an eCredit for use on future flights or you will be
rebooked on an alternate flight. If you decide not to travel, you may, however, in
some cases be able to obtain a refund* of any portion of your non-refundable
ticket that you unused as well as for any unused trip purchases. Not all amenities
are refundable, so please check the specific rules for each one. The majority of
tickets are nonrefundable. As soon as your request is received, we will try our best
to promptly process it and notify you of your eligibility for a refund.
24 Hour Cancellation Policy
You have up to 24 hours after purchasing a qualifying eTicket to cancel it for any
reason and receive a full refund with no costs. This is part of Delta's Customer
Commitment for customers who book directly on delta.com or the Fly Delta app.

I booked the seat and cancelled after some time due to some emergency. I thought I will not get that much refund for my ticket but there customer care guided me and gave me almost 90% of my refund.
